For the Love of Guava

Looky Looky what I got…

So Miss Treehugger & Miss Spotted Devil Cat gave lil’ ol me a BUTTERFLY AWARD!! I know I know Guava Lovers!! How ridiculous! Like I should even be mentioned in the same breath as these two amazing Vegan Ladies! [Insert lots of blushing and "ah Golly" looking down at my feet toeing the ground with hands behind my back here]

And for some reason these meme’s always get to me when I’ve dropped off the blogosphere for a few days and they’ve already made their rounds. It’s not that there aren’t some amazing blogs out there it’s just that I’m still discovering them and I’m horrible at updating my links so I’ll find something seriously Guavalicious, won’t be able to find it again, forget about it, rediscover it, repeat. Well, rules be damned, I’m picking those blogs that get my Guava going whether they’ve already picked me or have already been picked. Do with it what you wish. Warm fuzzies all around!

1) Heathen Vegan: Uhh… no brainer! Seriously, I don’t know what I did on the internet surfing all day before Jeni Treehugger but it must have been listless and purposeless! I’ve now categorized my blogging life into BT & AT (Before Treehugger & After Treehugger), the before being awfully Heathenless & Veganless. Her recipes always make me drool but even more importantly I love when we cross paths commenting… I always feel like… “Who? Oh right, my girl Jeni” [insert smug "I know that kick-ass chick" look here]. Plus, I don’t hear any of the rest of you offering to rub my little buddha-like belly so Treehugger wins!!!

2) Spotted Devil Cat: Again… no brainer! I know I’m totally cheating because you two chose me so if you’d like to throw down I just have to warn you that I may be small and compact but I’m also quick like ninja [who am I kidding Judge could probably take me and Scooter out in one collective swipe!]! Still if you’re going to try and keep me from giving you this award it’s going to be a fight! Seriously, guys check out Bethany’s blog! She’s always telling me I have too much energy and in the 3 days it’s taken me to post this meme I had to dig through several yummy dishes and heartbreakingly cute pet pics to find her Butterfly Post! Plus, she’s totally an enabler to my crazy pet parent illness with all the pictures of her babies!

3) Centrepullball: Okay if you want to be inspired this is your ticket! Gorgeous pics and simple WWHFDLN (What we had for dinner last night! Love that!) posts and EVERY meal is amazing looking! My pictures (and I’m sure dishes) are probably half as delicious looking and if you think I eat like that every night… think again… there’s lots of garbanzo tacos, nuked nachos, and mushy one pot wonders that never make it to the page!

4) Seitan is My Motor: Oh the wonders of the internet! Mihl spotted my little Guava all the way from Dresden, Germany! Sure it’s bright and pink and delicious… but Germany?!? YOWZA! I still can’t get over that people all over the place are reading my blog. It may be old hat to you superstars but to my little newbie guava blog it still well… tickles me pink! Check out Mihl’s blog… I’m seriously thinking of going on an all dessert diet and only eating Seitan is My Motor’s sweet recipes!

5) Cup of Jo: Bethany stole you from me!!! How dare she! I might have to send Chunks the Squirrel and my closest dinosaur friends after her! All I can say it turn your speakers up and go get a cup of Jo! One look at her background will tell you all need to know. Vibrant, spunky and full of sass! What more could a Guava lover want?

6) Alien on Toast: Love, Love, Love me some Alien on Toast! One of those Vegan MoFo find, lose, repeat relationships… I’m getting you on my links THIS WEEK Sal!

7) Viv and Larry: So Vivien Leigh and Laurence Olivier may not be vegans but if they were or had any odd habits like tapping their heads twice before entering a bathroom, or scandalous love triangles, or moles in weird places Kendra would definitely know about it! And if we’re giving out awards for “coolest blogs” Kendra’s firey plantation burning passion just couldn’t be left out! Check out her gorgeous website as well and if you’re an old movie buff stay posted… I’m on good authority that this next contest is going to be seriously worth it!

8 ) Snarky Vegan: I feel like Snarkiness is underused so I’m here by making it my mission to help Julia spread Snarkiness throughout Vegan Blog land. Go visit but the celery salt is already mine [to be read snarkily]! [[ditto... on my message to Sal... what am I doing with my life and my links?!]]

9) Knits with Carrots: I know I should branch out rather than nominate the same suspects again and again but what can I say about Knits with Carrots? It’s all in one shopping for me. Food, Crafts and Feminism. If only life was so simple and the patriarchy could be deconstructed and overthrown so easily!

10) Kimmy Kokonut: Her funghi caught my eye during MoFo and she’s had my heart ever since. Which may not seem like a compliment but go check out her blog and you won’t be disappointed! I’ll never eat another mushroom without you in mind [gah I'm creepers... I mean that in a totally appropriate non-creepy way.] Seriously… YUMMERS!

Wow! That was harder to narrow down than expected! All ya’ll know what a rebel I am and how I like to buck the status quo.. which I totally would and continue to give butterfly awards all day but then I’d be even more behind reading all of your amazing blogs than I already am!
